La Reyna del Sur was established in 2022. Growing up in the mountain town of Mier y Teran, Mexico. Our kitchen is infused with all the traditions and the cultural heritage of the Mixtec people of Oaxaca, some of the first Indigenous people of Mexico and one the the biggest ethnic groups in the country. Our mission is to bring traditional Oaxaca cuisine to Denver while also honoring and preserving our cultural roots.
We currently operate as a pop-up, serving up traditional barbacoa from an in ground oven every Sunday from 9AM-2PM at 3738 Morrison Road Denver, CO 80219. We also offer a wide range of catering services, anything from traditional street food, to 4 course meals cooked with traditional methods. Our food truck gives you an opportunity to try some of the flavors and ingredients we use, which we source from our families farm in Oaxaca. Giving each bite an authentic taste of indigenous cooking.
